Following their success in previous years, a programme of seven Long Distance Club Rides has been arranged for summer 2011. These are detailed on the Cycling Calendar webpage. On all other weekends there will be a Sunday morning club run starting from Lindum Business Centre car park at 9:30. The aim will be to run two rides, both rides covering 40 to 50 miles, the first group averaging 17 to 18 mph and the second group averaging 15 to 16 mph. There will be flexibility in this aim depending on turn out on the day and on weather conditions. The principal ride leaders are Lou Hanslow and Rob Brewer.
Autumn These regular club runs will continue till the end of the year when there will be a programme of winter training rides.
The “Long Distance Club Rides” will be of about 65 to 70 miles with a cafe stop for refreshment. The aim is to average 16 to 17 mph. Long distance rides will all set off at 9:00 on a Sunday morning with generally one long ride per month during the summer. Some of the long rides will start/finish from a member's home.
Please bring spare inner tubes(s), full drinking bottle and cash if the ride includes a cafe stop.
Pothole Reporting
As cyclists we are especially vulnerable to potholes that are most likely to be at
the edge of the road in the zone where we ride.
Local councils have a duty to maintain the roads, but they can only fill a pothole
if they know about it.
Please report potholes - the CTC have set up an easy to use website at www.fillthathole.org.uk
Alternatively the Local Council can be contacted directly on 01522 782070 or online
