The Lincolnshire Road Race League (TLI)

Lincoln Wheelers organise a round of the Lincolnshire Road Race League on the Brattleby circuit. In 2012 the race will be on Wednesday 2nd May, The HQ is Aisthorpe Village Hall. To compete you need a TLI Racing Licence, either an annual licence  (see below) or you should have no problem entering every race on a day licence (cost of £4) although the organiser does have discretion on this. Steve Walker, the organiser of Brattleby  is happy to issue day licences - note there is a cap at 60 entries, so be there in good time. The race entry fee is about £6.00. The Brattleby race is about 7 laps of the relatively short loop that includes Brattleby hill. The Road Race League is handicapped in groups with the aim of bringing all groups to the finish at about the same time. Like Circuit Racing, it is very good training.  Each group has a lead vehicle to provide a safe road environment for the group.

Now confirmed - this year the TLI event on the Witham Wheeler’s circuit (HQ at Granthamcricket club near Stroxton south of Grantham) on 27th June will count towards the Lincoln Wheeler’s Rider of the Season Award but if you want to give road racing a serious try , you should consider taking part in the annual league with 9 road races on various circuits around Lincolnshire. If you plan to race this event, please come in good time for the 7.00pm start. See comments on Brattleby above for entry conditions.

For further information from the rider’s point of view, Jon Clarke is the man to contact.
